Assembly Consultant Named to Banking Post

SACRAMENTO — Gov. George Deukmejian appointed Charlene Mathias, an Assembly consultant, to the $61,908-a-year post as senior deputy superintendent of banking.
Mathias, 50, of Sacramento, replaces Howard Gould of Martinez, who was recently appointed deputy secretary of the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.
