Tu Wins Golf Title
Taiwan’s Tu Ai-yu shot a 65 for the second day in a row to finish 15 under-par, to win the Ito-en Ladies Golf Tournament Sunday, with a seven-stroke margin.
Tu’s 201 total was the lowest score in a three-round tournament in Japan. The previous low score was a 203 by Japan’s Nayoko Yoshikawa.
Tu’s round included three birdies on the front-nine and five birdies for the round, including four consecutive, on the 11th through the 14th holes. She had one bogey, Sunday, over the 6,142-yard, par-72 layout of the hilly River Fuji Country Club course, west of Tokyo.
Tu earned $20,800 in her sixth victory of the season and 56th career win.
Hiromi Takamura of Japan, who started the third round tied with Tu at 136, finished in second place.
