Baby’s Trip Home Delayed
Patricia Ann, the healthiest of three surviving Frustaci septuplets, had been scheduled to be released from Childrens Hospital of Orange County today, but she will have to wait at least another week to go home, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.
“The doctors have decided that she is not gaining weight quickly enough,” spokeswoman Laura Johnson said of Patricia, the first of the septuplets born May 21. Johnson would not comment further on the infant’s condition or that of her two surviving brothers.
Three other babies born to Patti and Sam Frustaci died shortly after birth. Another girl was stillborn.
