The Rolling Hills Estates and Palos Verdes Estates city councils this week approved a weekday peak-hour fare increase for Palos Verdes Transit. The increase was approved by Rancho Palos Verdes on Aug. 6.

Starting Sept. 9, a one-way ride will cost $1.50 between 7 and 9 a.m. and 1 and 4 p.m. The majority of Palos Verdes Transit’s riders are school children and the peak-hour fare applies during the school year.

The regular one-way fare will remain $1. In July, the regular fare was increased to $1 from 75 cents.
