Fritz Taggart photographed this late-summer gathering by the pool at the South Pasadena home of Joanne and David Dixon. Created by landscape architect Mark Berry ASLA of Pasadena, the traditional “poolscape” reflects the original 1920s-era colonnade. The deck area is paved with terra-cotta tiles, and the series of low walls that surround the pool and patio areas provides additional seating. Designer Walter Hubert of Silver Birches Interiors, Pasadena, selected the outdoor furniture, which is by J. Fletcher Brooks.
