The second game of the world chess championship between Anatoly Karpov and challenger Gary Kasparov was adjourned on the 41st move Thursday.

Kasparov won the opening game Tuesday, and some believe that the challenger, playing black, had a winning position in the second game when it was adjourned.

But West German grandmaster Helmut Pfleger and other experts watching the match in Tchaikovsky Hall said that when play resumes today, the likely result will be a draw.
