A mother who had been the object of an intensive search since her two young daughters were found without her at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday was located Friday afternoon in a shopping center a few miles from the airport, police said.

Song Duncan, 32, appeared to be unharmed but was disoriented, when a man who had seen her picture on a television news program found her outside a supermarket in Inglewood, Police Lt. Robert Kimball said.

Duncan, who is Korean, is married to a U.S. serviceman, Bennett Duncan, who is stationed in Panama. She had arrived in Los Angeles to stay with her mother-in-law, Dolores Duncan, of Pasadena, when she became separated from her children, Aisha, 2, and Tashaya, 4, at the Delta Airlines terminal, Kimball said.

Her children were placed in the care of their grandmother, while police sought the missing woman.

Song Duncan speaks little English and police have so far not been able to discover what happened to her during the time she was missing, Kimball said.
