Share

Entries in the 10th annual Architectural Design Awards Competition of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institution of Architects will be on display at the California Museum of Science & Industry, Exposition Park, through Oct. 6. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week and admission is free.

The public display, a departure from previous practice, will include color and black-and-white photographs, plans, drawings and descriptive information on each item to explain the intent of the architect and the owner-developer, according to architect Ernest B. Majoram, chairman of the awards committee.

Entries will be in 10 categories: commercial, cultural, educational, government/public, health, industrial, recreational/entertainment, religious, residential and transportation. Some categories will be subdivided; commercial, for instance, will include categories for banks, hotels, offices, restaurants, retail and shopping centers.
