The Supreme Court will join other security-conscious branches of government by installing X-ray machines and metal detectors at entrances to the court building, it was announced today.

Court Marshal Alfred Wong said the apparatus will be installed Monday. With the exception of employees with ID cards and credentialed reporters, everyone entering the building will be required to pass through the security devices. Previously, the court had used the devices only for the courtroom when the justices were sitting on the bench.
