The father of a 23-month-old girl who was spotted by a restaurant cashier taking a money pouch containing $8,000 from a Brinks guard’s cart at Los Angeles International Airport has been ordered to stand trial. George Arias, 36, was held to answer on charges of grand theft and child endangerment after a preliminary hearing in West Los Angeles Municipal Court. His wife Joanna, 22, was jailed and her hearing postponed after she arrived late in court.
