Tennessee Prison Inmates Quieted, Restricted to Cells

PIKEVILLE, Tenn. —
Authorities ordered inmates of a state prison restricted to their cells Tuesday after a disturbance quelled by guards who used tear gas against about 200 prisoners, officials said.
A corrections spokesman said that no one was seriously hurt and there was no damage in the incident, which started when an inmate was placed in a segregation unit.
