CLEARWATER, Fla. —
A 71-year-old retiree was fatally injured while sunbathing in a lounge chair at the beach when a bulldozer ran over him, police said.
Daniel J. Sullivan, originally from Cape Cod, Mass., was rushed to a hospital Monday after being crushed beneath the left rear tire of the heavy machine, but he died an hour later, police said.
Sgt. Mike Bruscell said public works employee Ray Brock apparently did not see Sullivan and backed over him.
