San Jose police say they have broken a $1 million-a-year prostitution ring with the arrest of a 49-year-old Saratoga woman who allegedly advertised her $160-an-hour “escort agency” in the telephone Yellow Pages. The call girls wore electronic pagers, through which they were dispatched to customers, said vice squad officer Charles Younis, adding that the alleged madam’s home office was equipped with six telephones. Younis said Jeanette Carol Heckert, operator of Valentines Unlimited, was charged with felony pimping and conspiracy and will be arraigned in Municipal Court. Younis said Heckert’s records indicated she had been in business since 1979. He said Heckert kept files and records of every phase of the operation--the women, the dates, the services performed, payment, and each call. In addition, Younis said, the names of all the customers were filed, and that they would be called as witnesses.
