China has endorsed a North Korean suggestion that the two Koreas co-host the 1988 Summer Olympic Games, the official New China News Agency said.
In a letter to Juan Antonio Samaranch, president of the International Olympic Committee, Zhong Shitong, the president of the Chinese Olympic Committee, said the proposal was “worth serious consideration.”
South and North Korean sports officials plan to discuss the issue early next month at Lausanne, Switzerland.
