World Mail Center Lists 11th Straight Loss

World Mail Center Inc. of Camarillo lost money for its 11th consecutive quarter, attributing its latest quarterly loss to start-up costs for a new location in Newport Beach. The company, which rents mailboxes and sends packages through overnight delivery services, owns two private mail centers and has 11 franchised ones.

For its third quarter ended July 31, the company reported a loss of $441,546, or 1 cent a share, contrasted with a loss of $114,716, or 0 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales for the period were $95,842, down 85% from last year’s third quarter.

For the nine-month period ending July 31, the company reported a loss of $712,934, or 2 cents a share, following a loss of $498,479, or 2 cents a share, for the corresponding period last year. Revenues were off 52% to $691,335.
