Three people were injured when a carload of young men fired on them in an Anaheim shopping center parking lot, police said Tuesday.

Police said the apparent targets of the 7:30 p.m. Monday shooting were two Anaheim brothers--Anthony Ray Aragon, 23, who was shot in the shoulder, and Bonny Aragon, 16, shot in the hip. Both were treated at Anaheim Memorial Hospital and released.

A bystander, Anthony Stafford, 17, also of Anaheim, was shot in the buttocks and was admitted to the same hospital, where he was in satisfactory condition Tuesday.

Authorities said the shots were fired in the parking lot of the center at 1743 W. La Palma Ave. by five to seven young men riding in a Toyota station wagon. The vehicle was found abandoned near the shopping center with a smashed window and spent .22-caliber casings on the floor.

Police said the Aragon brothers told them they did not know why the men shot at them.
