Mannion Declared Winner in Fight
Sean Mannion, the seventh-ranked WBA junior middleweight from Boston, was declared the winner over Billy Robertson in the seventh round of their main event Thursday night in front of 1,400 at the Irvine Marriott.
Robertson butted Mannion at 1:45 of the seventh round and the fight was stopped. Because Mannion was ahead on two of the three judges’ cards, he was declared the winner.
In another bout, Steve Renwick, the New Zealand welterweight champion, won an eight-round decision in his U.S. debut over Santa Ana’s Chico Ruiz.
