Barbara Sinatra Is Award Winner

Barbara Sinatra, fund-raiser and volunteer worker for sexually abused children, has been named recipient of this year’s Distinguished Service Award of the Family Service Council of California.

In announcing the award, the council cited Sinatra for work among sexual abuse victims at Family Service of the Coachella Valley; for raising more than $400,000 for that agency’s treatment program; and for heading efforts to build a Children’s Outpatient Mental Health Center at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

The award will be presented today at the council’s annual fall conference at USC.
