Two people aboard a helicopter that crashed high in the Sierra Nevada were rescued after lying injured for three days inside the demolished craft. A hunter found the helicopter wreckage at the 8,800-foot level in the rugged Monache Meadows area and notified the U.S. Forest Service, which sent a helicopter to the site. Michael Dawson, 36, the pilot, and his passenger Elizabeth Noel, 24, both of Key Biscayne, Fla., were listed in good condition at Ridgecrest Community Hospital, a spokeswoman there said. Both suffered possible fractures.
