Luther Medical to Test Material for Hearts

Share

Luther Medical Products Inc. of Santa Ana said Wednesday that it will begin evaluating a new, injectable material to aid victims of heart and arterial disease.

The research project calls for Pacific CardioSciences of Vancouver, British Columbia to conduct tests on a flexible material that could be injected into a patient’s arteries to become the new lining for the patient’s damaged veins.

Janos G. Stiasny, Pacific CardioSciences president, said the material, if perfected, would offer a more economical and less potentially harmful treatment for heart and artery disease than currently available.
