A judge today rescheduled a court hearing for the public drunkenness charge against former Environmental Protection Agency chief Anne McGill Burford, accused of clawing a guard during a jail-house commotion.

Neither Burford nor her lawyer were in court when the General District Court judge delayed the hearing until Dec. 13. Burford chose to have a court hearing on the misdemeanor charge rather than pay a $30 fine.
