Vain meaning empty, worthless, ineffectual, foolish, lacking in sense, inflated, false and fruitless. But fruitless and ineffectual he was not. Just by being there, he was able to turn off the sound of Monday Night Football on TVs all over the U.S.--with apology to two gifted announcers, Don Meredith and Frank Gifford.
Puuuuullleaase keep him off baseball.
