Westwood
UCLA ranked first among public universities and sixth among all universities nationwide in receiving private support during 1983-84, according to a survey of 1,118 universities and colleges by the Council for Financial Aid to Education.
Officials at UCLA, which received more than $64 million in private support in 1983-84, attribute its fund-raising success to the UCLA Campaign, the university’s five-year effort to raise $200 million by 1987 to support campus academic programs. As of June 30, more than $131 million had been raised.
