Grandmasters Play to Draw in Game 14

World chess champion Anatoly Karpov played to a draw Thursday after 32 moves in the 14th game of his world title contest with fellow Soviet grandmaster Gary Kasparov.

Karpov played white in the game, which opened with the Sicilian Defense.

By Kasparov’s 32nd move, the two players were in equal end-game positions, and they agreed to a draw.

The competition remains tied, now at 7-7, with each player having won two games. The 15th game is scheduled for Saturday.
