Southern California chocoholics can bask in two weekends of indulgence, beginning this weekend, as promoters make plans for two chocolate shows--both offering participants the opportunity to sample imported as well as domestic chocolate, see demonstrations and partake of chocolate delicacies and products.

The Chocolate Show, scheduled Friday through Sunday 11 a.m to 7 p.m., will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the main building. Chocolate lovers will sample imported and domestic candies and desserts, including cakes, cookies, fudge, brownies and ice cream.

Demonstrations of cooking and decorating with chocolate will also be featured. Tickets for the event cost $6 and are available at the door.

In Orange County, Chocolate Extravaganza ’85 brings together manufacturers, retailers and restaurants featuring chocolate-related products. The third annual event will be held at Disneyland Hotel’s Exhibition Hall on the pre-Halloween weekend of Oct. 26 and 27. A highlight will be a pastry cart competition to uncover the most irresistible chocolate dessert in Orange County in a cook-off of chefs from the area’s restaurants and hotels.

The show also offers demonstrations on how to make, dip and decorate with chocolate, plus carvings of chocolate and ice. In addition, entertainment and demonstrations will be provided by members of the show’s sponsor, S.E.E. Center, and the hearing-impaired children the center works with.

Ticket price, which includes all chocolate-related activities, is $7.50. The show will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

Tickets are available through all Southern California Ticketmaster outlets, at the door or by mail. Send check and self-addressed, stamped envelope to Chocolate Extravaganza ‘85, P.O. Box 527, Tustin 92680.
