Quarterback Brian Bedford came off the bench to rally California from a 21-point deficit Saturday at Eugene, Ore., as the Bears defeated Oregon, 27-24, for their first Pacific 10 victory of the season.

The Bears, 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the Pac-10, took their only lead when Tyrone Moore scored on a 12-yard option play with 7:22 to play. Moore added the two-point conversion run on another option play.

Oregon (2-4, 2-2) used Cal mistakes to open a 21-0 first-quarter lead.

A Bear fumble on the Cal 10-yard line set up Tony Cherry’s three-yard scoring run 2:15 into the game. The Ducks picked off a Kevin Brown pass at the Cal 23 moments later, setting up Chris Miller’s six-yard scoring pass to Scott Holman to make it 14-0.
