Vandierendonck Wins Second Title
Chantelle Vandierendonck of the Netherlands combined with Martine Piccard of France to defeat Susan Peters of Lansing, Mich. and Terry Gray of San Leandro, 6-1, 6-2, to win the women’s open doubles title at the U.S National Wheelchair Tennis Championships at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
The victory gave Vandierendonck two titles at the championships. On Saturday, she won the women’s open singles competition.
In the men’s open singles final, Brad Parks of Laguna Niguel defeated Rick Slaughter of Nashville, Tenn., 6-4, 6-4.
