Sidekicks Beat Lazers, 7-5, in Soccer Opener at Dallas

Mark Karpun scored three goals to lead to the Dallas Sidekicks to a 7-5 victory over the Los Angeles Lazers in a Major Indoor Soccer League opener before a crowd of 6,299 Friday night.

Dallas’ Tatu, who throws his jersey into the stands each time he scores, lost one shirt in the game.

Ed Radwanski, Dallas’ first-round draft choice this year, scored his first MISL goal. The unassisted, short-handed shot came at 12:38 of the third period.

Batata scored two goals for Los Angeles.

Krys Sobieski, who was recently acquired from the Cleveland Force, was the winning goalie in his first Sidekick performance. Mike Mahoney was the loser.
