Dancer Gene Kelly was named grand marshal of Beverly Hills’ 1986 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The honorary shillelagh was passed to Kelly, a Beverly Hills resident, by another famous Irishman, Ed McMahon, Johnny Carson’s longtime sidekick, who was the 1985 grand marshal. The second annual parade will march off along Rodeo Drive on March 16, 1986.
