Kasparov Holds Lead in Chess

MOSCOW —
The 21st game of the World Chess Championship between titlist Anatoly Karpov and challenger Garri Kasparov was adjourned today after Karpov, playing black, sealed his 41st move. Experts said Kasparov appeared to be in a good position to score a victory when play resumes Friday.
Kasparov leads 11-9 in the 24-game series. If the 22-year-old challenger only holds Karpov to draws in the remaining play, he can take the crown from the 34-year-old champion.
