Memorial services will be held Saturday for “Baby Jane Doe,” the 10-month-old child whose body has lain unclaimed at the coroner’s office since it was found Aug. 18 in a Baldwin Hills alley.

The 2 p.m. service at the Park Hill Community Church in Windsor Hills was organized by Alyce Beard, a social worker with the county Department of Children’s Service, Los Angeles Police Lt. Vance Proctor said.

“She was not involved in the case but said she was very touched and wanted to help,” he said.

Beard was not working Thursday, but a co-worker at the El Monte office said she collected donations from colleagues and friends.

City officials have offered a $5,000 reward for information on the baby’s death.
