Santa Anita to Show and Take Bets on Breeders’ Cup Races Saturday

Santa Anita will have wagering on and simulcasting of the Breeders’ Cup Saturday, as well as an eight-race program of its own, highlighted by the inaugural running of the $100,000 Ridder Stakes for California-foaled 2-year-olds.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the first post time in the Breeders’ Cup from Aqueduct in New York at 9:40. Besides win, place and show betting on all seven Breeders’ Cup races, there will be $2 exactas on the Juvenile and Juvenile Fillies races and $5 exactas on the Turf and Distaff races.

Starting with the $3 million Classic, the last of the Breeders’ Cup races, pick nine betting will begin and the Oak Tree program will begin immediately after the New York racing, with first post time about 1:20 p.m.
