Gain Seen by South County in San Diego

While northern San Diego County receives the major portion of the new-housing market, the southern portion’s share is becoming increasingly larger, according to marketing consultant Kenneth W. Agid.

“While the northern part will continue to experience a greater share of the county’s average yearly population gains, that share is lessening,” he said. “South County will realize an estimated 20,000 to 23,000 of the total population gain during each of the next five years.”

He told a group of seven home builders participating in the EastLake Hills and EastLake Shores neighborhoods in the EastLake planned community in eastern Chula Vista that the southern part of the county will account for 10,710 of the 25,000 total new homes needed in each of the next five years.
