Furor Over Farrakhan

Isn’t it remarkable! Rabbi Kahane comes to town and airs his views about the elimination of the Arabs from Israel, “his country,” and The Times stuffs it in the inner pages. Some Jews are quoted as not agreeing with his views, but that they wanted to hear what he has to say.

Several weeks back, Louis Farrakhan comes to town, and gets prominent coverage, wild reactions from the Jewish community, pressure is put on Mayor Bradley and the whole affair is blown out of proportion.

Upon reflection, when one considers Kahane’s views about ousting the Arabs from a homeland they have occupied for centuries, and when he says that he is a “terror” to the Arabs, one reflects on how is Kahane different in his attitudes from Adolf Hitler. Both appear to be cut from the same cloth, but of course, in the case of Kahane and his supporters, it is all a matter of whose ox is gored.

I can well imagine that if and when Kahane becomes prime minister of Israel, he and the Ariel Sharons and the others will create a state so similar to Nazi Germany that the world will quickly come to recognize Israel in its true colors.

Fortunately, there are so many Jews that hopefully will be alienated from Kahane and his Nazi ideas that they will withdraw their support from Israel. Perhaps that will be enough to destroy this monster Kahane.

Unfortunately, The Times failed to see the implications of a story that should have been on the front page and the subject of an editorial. Or else Louis Farrakhan should have found his message similarly stuffed into the interior of the paper.
