Torrance : Training Contracts Awarded
The Private Industry Council, serving Torrance, Carson and Lomita, has awarded contracts to the Torrance Unified and Los Angeles Unified school districts to provide youth job training under the joint state and federal Job Training Partnership Act.
The council administers the state and federal funds for job training and placement of unemployed and economically disadvantaged residents of the three cities.
A $30,000 contract with Torrance Unified School District will provide job training and placement for 20 Torrance youths. A $38,000 contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District will train and place 22 youths from Carson and Lomita.
