Reagan to Broadcast to Soviets

WASHINGTON — President Reagan will address the Soviet people Saturday in a 10-minute radio address beamed to the Soviet Union, telling them about his “hopes for peace, hopes for a successful summit,” White House spokesman Larry Speakes said today.
The President’s speech will be carried by the Voice of America in English, but it will also be translated and broadcast in Russian and the other languages spoken in the Soviet Union, Speakes said. “We hope that the Soviets will take this occasion to halt their jamming,” he added.
