La Verne : Water Plant to Be Renovated

The Metropolitan Water District will spend $9.5 million to renovate the F. E. Weymouth Filtration Plant in La Verne, the district's oldest water treatment plant. The district board of directors also has authorized a $33-million renovation of pumps, motors and transformers at pumping stations along the Colorado River aqueduct, which brings water to the plant. The work is scheduled for completion by 1991.
