Laguna Beach : Council to Choose New Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem
The City Council will select a new mayor and mayor pro tem at Tuesday night’s meeting, as Mayor Bobbie Minkin’s term expires.
Minkin was named mayor by the five-member council after local elections last April, but her term, which normally would have been one year, was shortened because Laguna Beach voters chose to shift local elections to November. The new mayor will serve a full year.
The position is normally rotated among council members. Mayor Pro Tem Martha Collison is the only member who has not yet served as mayor.
