Women’s Groups to Offer Political Training Seminars
Fifteen women’s groups announced Friday that they will hold political training seminars across the nation in a bid to help women win more state and local elections in 1986.
The coalition said it hopes to attract 60 potential candidates to each of 10 seminars, where the women will pay $125 apiece to learn how to run a campaign, raise money, handle the media and meet voters.
The sponsoring organizations vary from such feminist groups as the National Organization for Women and the National Abortion Rights Action League to more traditional groups like the American Home Economics Assn. and the League of Women Voters.
