41 Portofino Single-Family Homes Open in Palm Desert

The first phase of Portofino, 41 single-family homes behind the gates of Desert Breezes Resort in Palm Desert, is opening today. The two- and three-bedroom homes with two baths, range in size from 1,441 to 1,650 square feet, and are priced from $119,400 to $146,900.

Each home has a large side patio for privacy and homeowners may elect to use such resort facilities as a tennis club, fitness center, bike path, jogging trail, pools and spas.

The homes, developed by the Williams Co., feature terra cotta tile floors, living rooms with soaring ceilings, dining rooms and master bedroom suites. Move-ins for seven or eight homes are immediate, and for the second phase in the planned, 164-unit project in March or April.

Models and the sales office are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They may be reached by taking the Washington Boulevard turnoff from either Interstate 10 or California 111 and proceeding to the corner of Washington and Fred Waring Drive.
