Crash Kills Teen-Ager: April Wilhelm, 18, of Trabuco Canyon was killed Thursday when her late-model Honda Civic veered off the side of Live Oak Canyon Road and flipped over, California Highway Patrol Officer Phil Lugo said. Wilhelm was northbound on Live Oak Canyon near El Toro Road about 11:15 a.m. when, for an undetermined reason, she drifted off the road. Her efforts to correct the car caused her vehicle to swerve up the embankment and overturn, Lugo said. Wilhelm, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially thrown through the car’s sunroof and was crushed as the car rolled on top of her, Lugo said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
