USC Fan Looks Back to the Days of McKay, Cunningham and Rae

I wish the obviously fair-weather “Trojan Faithful” would get off Ted Tollner’s back. How soon they forget that he is the same man who, as Pac-10 coach of the year just last year, led a limited offensive squad to a Rose Bowl victory and top 10 finish.

As a Trojan alum, I, too, would like to go undefeated every year. But what I am most impressed by is the class exhibited by Tollner, win or lose. The postgame interviews with his players indicate that he is developing in them the most important goal of college athletics--character. I would be proud to have my 2-year-old son play for Coach Tollner at USC 16 years from now.
