NHL Roundup : Flyers Beat Penguins at Spectrum

Ilkka Sinisalo scored two third-period goals, including the game winner, to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 7-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday night at Philadelphia.

Sinisalo’s goal at 11:43 of the third period, his 12th of the season, came with Pittsburgh’s Randy Hillier in the penalty box for roughing and broke a 4-4 tie.

The defeat was the 19th in a row for the Penguins at the Spectrum.

Sinisalo scored his first goal at 4:43 of the third period to give Philadelphia a 4-3 lead, but Pittsburgh’s John Chabot tied the score less than two minutes later with his fifth goal of the season.

Dave Poulin also scored two goals for the Flyers, including an empty net goal with five seconds to play.

N.Y. Islanders 4, N.Y. Rangers 3--Greg Gilbert scored the game-winner at 1:57 into overtime at Madison Square Garden as the Islanders rebounded from a 5-0 loss to the Rangers Saturday night at the Nassau Coliseum.

The Rangers tied the game, 3-3, on Reijo Ruotsalainen’s second goal of the game, a slap shot from inside the right faceoff circle at 15:32 of the third period.
