Alameda County authorities will not prosecute 138 anti-apartheid protesters who were arrested two weeks ago on charges of trespassing at the University of California, Berkeley, court officials said. Last summer, judges dismissed cases against demonstrators in two separate trials after juries acquitted the protesters of blocking pedestrians and voted to acquit them on charges of resisting arrest. In a third trial last month, another jury found more demonstrators not guilty of various misdemeanor charges.
