AHMANSON ADMINISTRATOR JOINS STAFF OF ARTS CENTER

Robert Pinger, a staff administrator with the Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center, has been hired as director of marketing and audience development by the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Pinger, 38, who will assume his Orange County post Jan. 2, has been the Ahmanson’s director of advertising and patron relations for eight years. Before that, he was assistant press director with the Los Angeles Music Center Operating Co. for two years.

“I’m looking forward to my new job with great enthusiasm. It’s like coming home,” said Pinger. A UC Riverside graduate in history and theater, Pinger was raised in Orange County. He resided in Fullerton and graduated from Servite High School in Anaheim.

Pinger will be assuming a newly created marketing post at the Orange County Center, which is now under construction in Costa Mesa and scheduled to open in Oct. 1986. The center’s $70.7-million main phase, including a 3,000-seat multipurpose theater, is set to open in October, 1986.
