Dissident Signal shareholders settled their lawsuit.

The dissidents had sought to block or reduce what they claimed was as much as $106 million in compensation to be paid to former executives of Signal Cos. The settlement will trim more than $20 million from the total compensation package, which Allied-Signal officials maintain was far less than $106 million. Many of the new employment clauses now call for so-called golden handcuffs that require the key executives to remain with the company for their benefits to be paid.
