A moderate earthquake rattled windows and shook a few people out of bed here Thanksgiving morning, but apparently caused no injuries or extensive damage, authorities said.

The earthquake struck at 7:13 a.m. and registered 4.5 on the Richter scale, according to the University of California, Berkeley, Seismographic Station.

A police spokesman said authorities did not receive many phone calls about the quake. “Only two residents called and no one reported any damages,” he said. “It was kind of a rumbling motion . . . then it just stopped.”
