Vanuatu Islands Jolted by Two Strong Quakes

HONOLULU —
Two strong earthquakes struck Thursday in the South Pacific near the Vanuatu Islands, formerly known as the New Hebrides, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
The first quake measured 6.7 on the Richter scale and the second registered 7, the center said. No damage or injuries were reported.
