Electricity was restored to almost all of the 44,000 homes in Los Angeles and Orange counties that experienced power outages from a heavy storm that swept through the area. About 500 customers of the Department of Water and Power and another 200 to 300 customers of Southern California Edison Co. were still without power. Electricity was interrupted after winds of up to 30 m.p.h. sent tree branches and palm fronds flying, knocking down hundreds of power lines in the area.
