Culver City Council Approves Site Plan for Senior Citizen Housing Project

Share

The City Council of Culver City has approved the final site plan for a senior citizens housing project at Culver Boulevard and Overland Avenue. Construction of the two-story, 97-unit facility, part of a $30-million planned development by Goldrich, Kest & Associates, is expected to begin in the spring and take about three years.

The council also approved a moratorium on permits for businesses to sell both gasoline and alcoholic beverages. The moratorium, recommended by the Planning Commission, will remain in effect until a permanent ordinance is adopted.

The council also voted to give the police chief responsibility for disposing of confiscated firearms. The chief is to establish criteria for determining which weapons are collectible or historically valuable. These will be sold to certified gun dealers. The rest will be destroyed.
